13978 – Procurement Specialist – Carlow Contractor

Purpose:

This is a 6-month fixed term contract.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting execution of strategic direct and indirect procurement projects and supporting the site’s operating objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Direct and Indirect Category leads within Global Procurement to execute projects at site, working closely with stakeholders.
• Represent category teams locally – understand supply strategies, execution planning and Global & Local Agreements – describing the benefits of these Agreements to the site.
• Ensure that all objectives are effectively achieved, consistent with company requirements to ensure compliance, safety and reliable supply to our customers.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

• 3rd Level Bachelor’s Degree Qualification required – ideally in Business, Engineering, Science, Supply Chain or Procurement related area
• Continuous Professional Development preferred
• Professional expertise in Procurement within a manufacturing / GMP environment (>5 years)
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt desirable.
• Strong analytical skills
• Good systems knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP.
• Good knowledge of supply chain systems including ERP, eProcurement.
• Stakeholder Engagement, Influencing and Management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, negotiation & problem-solving skills.
• Direct and indirect sourcing
• Negotiation and contracts
• Supplier and Supply Base management
• Cost Improvement Project identification & execution
• Process & Policy compliance and that of site stakeholders
• KPI Target Achievement & Reporting – Working Capital, Diversity, PPV etc.
