This role is a 9 Month contract with a view to extension.

Purpose

Front end sample preparation routine lysing and cleaning DNA. Sample registering and scanning of samples. Making buffers when required. Quality control of incoming samples.

Responsibilities

• Completion of daily sample registration and reconciliation of same with electronic data.
• Prepare buffers, and materials as required for analytical procedures.
• General Housekeeping.
• Assisting routine processing of test samples and associated electronic information.
• Lysing and cleaning DNA samples.
• Scanning of the sample.
• Sample quality checks.

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Science Biology or Molecular Biology

• Experience in using multichannel pipettes.
• Previous experience in an ISO accredited laboratory.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Familiarity with a manufacturing or production line environment.
• Ability to work independently and to daily targets.
• Experience in DNA clean up and preparation preferred, not essential.
• Work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Fast learner.
• Positive attitude.
