Purpose:

The OPEX Specialist will be responsible for supporting the site in implementing the OPEX strategy, interacting with all employees of the plant at every level of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of the OPEX Site Strategy.
• Lead and support site cost-saving and yield improvement initiatives.
• Drive improvements in the QC Lab in support of achieving our QC Vision.
• Lead OPEX improvement activities across the site with a key focus on cycle time reduction and Agile Flow.
• Support the site in the implementation and development of the Company Operating System for Organizational Excellence.
• Serve as a change agent and key site influencer.
• Provide OPEX support to departments across the site as required.
• Demonstrate the appropriate use of Lean techniques during OPEX projects.
• Coach employees in Lean Techniques and Principles in order to develop an organization-wide culture of change.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

• Educated to Degree Level in either Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or educated to a Master Degree level in Lean.
• A Team player with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience in an Operational Excellence role or have an interest in working in an Operational Excellence role.
• Previous experience in a Lean production environment.
• A Deep understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodology and tools.
• Experience in operational functions such as Manufacturing, Quality, QC, or Supply Chain would be an advantage.
• Project management experience and excellent time management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required in coordinating activities.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in analysing information and designing metrics relevant to the business environment.
