This is a 6 month contract
Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, the Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day inventory management, supply planning and demand forecasting of a portfolio of the company’s Human Health medicines to ensure continuity of supply and access for Irish patients.
• Works cross functionally with Regional Supply Chain, Demand Fulfillment, Global Logistics, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Medical and Commercial to ensure continuity of compliant product supply to the Irish market.
• Develop sound business relationships with all stakeholders and influence decisions which impact the Irish subsidiary.
• Supports the adoption of new supply chain systems and integration within the commercial organisation.
• Support the long-term supply chain strategy for MSD Ireland.
• Develops strong strategic partnerships with Irish Distributors.
• Utilises skills and knowledge base to effectively resolve commercial / supply issues of a complex nature.
• Work with Finance to align forecasts, understand variances and provide commentary to differences in financial and demand forecasts.
Supply Planning and Supply Issues Management
• Frequent review of stock replenishment plans, safety stocks, forecasts and minimum order quantities to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
• Work closely with Distributor to manage supplies efficiently where stock levels are limited.
• Regular communication with Demand Fulfilment team to understand where potential issues may occur.
• Ensure early identification of potential product shortages, preparation of risk assessments and good communication with all stakeholders.
• Where product shortages are inevitable, work with relevant stakeholders to decide the most appropriate course of action.
• Hold review meetings with core stakeholders and communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
Demand Planning
• Submit timely and accurate monthly demand forecasts by sku (pack) on Rapid Response.
• Run monthly demand planning meetings to review and agree consensus forecasts.
• Review past sales to determine sales trends and have a good understanding of future events that will cause an upside/downside in sales (e.g. competitor shortages, patent expiry, parallel trade etc.)
• Monthly Forecast accuracy/error tracking and reporting.
• Work with Finance to understand any variances in Financial and Demand Forecasts and the reasons for the variances.
• Run monthly reports to support the monthly Demand Planning process.
Artwork Tracking and Serialisation (FMD)
• Work closely with Regulatory to understand what artwork changes are due to be implemented in the future that may have an impact on supply.
• Work with internal FMD team to cascade information to customers regarding outcomes of alerts.
Supply Chain Projects and Commercial Support activities
• For large projects that impact Supply Chain, work closely with project teams to support all project activities to ensure a smooth and successful transition e.g. new system rollouts, product divestitures / transfers etc.
• Oversee supply chain related activities to ensure readiness for product launches.
• Work closely with Patient Access to understand upcoming price changes and ensure these are implemented in a timely manner internally and with external customers.
• Lead and support sku optimisations and harmonisation initiatives and work cross functionally with relevant stakeholders (Medical, Regulatory and Commercial) to agree and implement proposals.
Process improvement
• Actively participate in the development of supply chain S&OP/OPA metrics and improvement of forecast accuracy.
• Seek improvements and efficiencies to standard supply chain and business processes and reports.
• Participate in the regional Demand Planners Communities of Practice (CoP) forums and share best practice.
• Work as part of a team with Regulatory and Quality to improve current procedures and adhere to GDP compliance obligations.
• Ensure optimal use of SAP processes and standards.
• Degree qualification essential.
• 5+ years Supply Chain experience in a pharmaceutical company is essential.
• Proven project management experience.
• Proven experience in Data Analysis and forecasting.
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills (minimum).
• Understanding of the commercial environment.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain and Regulatory artwork change procedures.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Works well under pressure and demonstrates flexibility .
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Proven experience using business forecasting tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Patient focused.
